CK Ranch Creates Revolutionary Community Concept near Horseshoe Bay

Master-planned residential community provides small-town Hill Country

SLR Design and Development and Sealy & Grant L.P. today announced the creation of an innovative new residential community in the popular Horseshoe Bay area. The community, named CK Ranch, is located in Cottonwood Shores, minutes from Lake LBJ and Marble Falls. The overall concept is that of a traditional small town, where residents can find shopping, services, and entertainment all within walking distance of their homes.

The concept behind CK Ranch combines modern planning and amenities with the historic ranch and small-town lifestyle of the Hill Country. Among the distinctive features of this community are historical structures, like the original homestead, schoolhouse and post office, dating back to the land's early ranching history. Natural features like spring-fed pools and creeks, 200-year-old Live Oaks and rich pecan bottoms have also been preserved within the community plan.

The key differentiator for CK Ranch's residential offering is its design as a traditional walking community. A system of low-impact trails and pathways will connect each phase of the development with the natural features and open spaces, as well as a retail village. Within the village setting, residents can find community services, visit local artisan shops and small businesses, and even buy groceries, all within a few minutes' walk of their home. Other trails will lead to the community center, with fitness facilities, community pool and a unique Hill Country historical center. The location also affords nearby marina access to Lake LBJ, scenic views of Horseshoe Bay and the Hill Country landscape, and several golf courses within minutes of the community.

The project is backed financially by Sealy & Grant L.P. of Dallas, and the community concept was created by SLR Design and Development, of Cedar Park, TX. Additional planning and design services were provided by RVI Land Planning & Landscape in Austin.

As the planning stages reach completion, SLR and IF Development, the community's sales and marketing firm, will begin offering lots for sale. Currently, plats and zoning plans have been submitted to Burnet County and are due for approval in the upcoming months. The companies are also in the process of selecting the development's preferred builders.
